We at Meelmore Lodge would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their custom this past year and hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas holiday and wish all our customers a very prosperous new year.

New Hostel Charges from 1st January 2010

New hostel charges will be in force from January 2010. Advance booking is required for use of the hostel and can be made through June or Ruth:

We thoroughly advise our customers to book well in advance as rooms tend to book up extremely quickly

 *Breakfast will include cereal, a full fry with tea/coffee served in the coffee shop.

Further to the new charges, we would like to remind customers of our terms & conditions. Any booking made over one week in advance will be required to give a 30% deposit at the time of booking, with the exception of large groups which will be required to make a 50% deposit. Cancellations should be given two weeks prior to the arrival date and customers should be aware that any cancellation automatically forfeits their deposit.

Family Fun Day

Meelmore Lodge hosted its first ever Family Fun Day on Saturday 22nd August 2009. The event offered a wide range of fun and games for all the family including a bouncy castle and an outdoor buffet. The Fun Day proved a good success and raised £265 for Mourne Mountain Rescue. which was raised through raffle tickets.  We hope to have another Fun Day this year, with the date yet to be confirmed.

New Mountain Access for Meelmore Lodge

Recent visitors to Meelmore Lodge will notice that the mountain access route from the campsite has been further extended to take walkers right up to the mountain wall style.

Seasonal Tickets for Car Park

A seasonal ticket for the car park is now available from the coffee shop for a charge of £35. The ticket is valid for a 12-month period and may be renewed at any time in the coffee shop. For more information, contact (028) 4372 6657.

Cafe Goes Home Made

In case it has slipped anyone's notice the coffee shop now proudly boasts a wide selection of homemade scones, cakes, tray-bakes and tarts. We are also pleased to say that all of our eggs now come from local farmers who own free-range hens.
